This picture is in pretty bad shape and it took me a good while to gently straighten out the bend in the corner. There is no year written on the back, but the people are identified. The surname Loftus is from my grandfather’s (mom’s) side of the family, that’s about all I know so far. I tried that Ancestry.com website but I don’t think I’m ready to start paying for a service like that. Maybe someday..
The ink is a little faded but the post script at the bottom shares a sad update on the man “Irving” in the picture. It reads:
“Lillie Carlson was two when her mother died. She was raised by her grandparents and used the name of Hannon. Irving was killed while in high school thrown off a horse”
